September 2005 Volume 9 Number 9
Club Points Competition
This competition
is meant to be a friendly way to show your support for the Club’s activities
throughout the year and promote a more active overall club membership. We have a lot planned this year, including
a number of different events and many of our members will be racing
and participating in a number of DualSport events.
Trail work days will be needed through out the year at Coal Creek
and the more people that show up to help, the easier the work will be.
Plan to
be an active member and we look forward to seeing everyone whenever
they have a chance to come out and go riding and to help out with the
different planned Club events. Thank
you for your support!
The top five in points so far for this year
are:
Skip Davis 2050 Brian Strunk
1350 Anthony
Khiel 1250 Gary Clark
and Steve Lewis 1000
Club Ride at the Terry Farm in September
Rick and Joe Terry
have invited the club down for a ride on their farm over the weekend
of September 17. There is riding
available for all skill levels and plenty of riding for the kids. Games to be organized…Mini Hare Scramble, Time trial, and lots of
fun! Primitive camping will
be available. Make your plans
to attend! This will be a great
time for all. Contact Rick at
986-0936 or Joe at 988-4379.
Thanks Rick and Joe
for sponsoring the ride at your farm! Not Too Early to Think About Officers
for 2006
The 2005 year is passing
way too fast. It will soon be
time to find some folks to coerce into serving as officers for the Volunteer
Riders for 2006. If you have
a want to serve in any of the positions that will be available, which
include President, Vice President, Secretary, or Treasure, please let
someone in the club know about it.
I wanted to list a few of the duties of each position so people
could be thinking about where they would best fit.
President: Run the monthly meetings, organize new business
for the club, communicate with club membership about club activities,
collect door prizes for the end of the year banquet, contribute to newsletter
Vice President: Take the lead on setting up club activities,
fill in at meetings when the President can’t be there, contribute to
newsletter
Secretary: Produce and distribute the monthly newsletter
in hard copy and email, maintain club points competition tally, take
notes at monthly meeting, maintain club membership contact list
Treasurer: Maintain the club bank account, write checks
for any official expenditures, collect yearly dues, provide financial
reports
These are the major things that each position requires. Be thinking about serving in one of the above
positions. If you have questions about any of the positions,
just ask.
